Job Description
Full Stack Engineer (TypeScript) – Microservices Development
Location: Remote (with occasional client visits)
Salary: Up to £55,000 per year
Eligibility: SC Clearance required
Role Overview:
We’re working with a leading IT consultancy seeking Full Stack Engineers with significant experience in building microservices using Node.js and TypeScript. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, scalable digital solutions that drive business transformation.
You will work with a variety of projects, utilizing the latest technologies such as React, Next.js, Vite, Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, and NoSQL databases. You’ll be part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with stakeholders to create impactful products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop microservices using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Build front-end applications using React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Leverage frameworks like Next.js and Vite to develop responsive web applications.
- Implement cloud-based solutions using AWS or Azure.
- Utilize Docker for containerization and Docker Compose for managing multi-container applications.
- Integrate CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins) into the development process.
- Work within agile development teams to ensure rapid, iterative software delivery.
- Maintain best practices for version control using Git.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience building microservices with Node.js.
- Expertise in front-end development using React, JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with Next.js and Vite.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Hands-on knowledge of Docker and Docker Compose.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins).
- Solid understanding of Git and version control.
- Experience working in agile environments.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
- Familiarity with NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) or SQL (e.g., Postgres) databases.
- Understanding of web standards, accessibility, and development best practices.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience building microservices in C# or Java.
- Experience integrating with Large Language Models (LLMs) or related technologies.
- Familiarity with GOV.UK Design System and Nunjucks templating.
